It's been a busy month, but I am finally home and back in my studio. Spring is finally here, the flowers are in bloom and pretty soon I will be able to keep my patio door/ window open again! Since my last blog entry, I've traveled to New Jersey, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island and back to Jersey. With only a backpack, I felt like I was living on the subway for a week lol I enjoyed every minute of it too! The trip started out perfectly by visiting a few goofballs, I consider brothers. Bobbie and Sean. Bobbie surprised me by asking me to be his groomsmen and we grabbed the best pizza in the world (my opinion, Tacconelli's) and then had a few more drinks than planned. Congratulations Sean and Dani on Aidan James, future NY Giant!
Shoutout to Crazy Glenn Wernig, Bobbie, Chris and Hana for letting me crash at their places during this trip! The NY Waste show was great, I don't know how we packed all of those people into that gallery but somehow we did! Thanks Lucky for the company, you were a killer host! Even though it was a business trip, I'm very thankful to have seen my cousins, aunts and uncles. When I flew back to Portland, I hit the ground running. I shipped "Hawaiian Honey" to a spring juried show in North Carolina then got ready for the Sip Classic in McMinnville, OR. After the 3-day event of selling art and drinking (horrible life, I know), I then met up with some friends to work on the Life pop-up experience project. I painted a mural or a large evil octopus. You can see my Instagram for pictures. The actual event dinner was last Saturday and it consisted of storytelling through Art, a delicious 8 course meal and magic. If you live in the Portland area, definitely sign up for this event and get on the list!
After going out for St. Patrick's day on Friday and running the Shamrock run Sunday morning, it feels great to get back to work! My next show will be "Hortlandia" plant and art sale inside The Portland Expo Center, April 15th & 16th! Come on down and say hello!
